About The Role:
We are seeking a Human Resources (HR) Advisor to join our team! This position plays a key role in strengthening organizational capacity through effective recruitment, onboarding, and talent management.
Working closely with the People and Culture team, this role helps identify workforce needs by attracting and selecting top talent and delivering an exceptional candidate and employee experience. In addition to talent acquisition, the HR Advisor provides professional advice and support across a range of HR functions—including employee relations, performance management, HRIS, and policy interpretation—ensuring that practices are fair, consistent, and aligned with organizational strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Management
- Lead full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviewing, reference checks, and offers.
- Support job description creation, job evaluations, classification reviews, and the ongoing maintenance of position data.
- Advance employer branding initiatives, including outreach to post-secondary institutions, career fairs, and online talent communities.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for hard-to-fill and critical roles.
- Provide training and guidance to managers on interview techniques and equitable hiring practices.
- Support learning and development programs by tracking requests, assisting with approvals, and coordinating grant filings and applications, where applicable.
- Contribute to employee engagement and recognition programs.
Onboarding and Integration
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation activities.
- Ensure a seamless transition for new employees, including HRIS setup, benefit enrollment, and compliance training.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of onboarding processes to strengthen early engagement and retention.
HRIS, Reporting/Analytics
- Develop and maintain HR dashboards, metrics and workforce analytics to inform decision-making.
- Generate regular and ad hoc reports on recruitment, turnover, compensation, training, and other HR KPIs.
- Compile and analyze data to support the People and Culture team in collective bargaining, employee relations, and labour relations activities.
- Collaborate on special projects including engagement surveys, performance management, and HR process improvements.
General HR Support
- Partner with the People and Culture team on initiatives related to engagement, performance management, and learning.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and strengthen reporting capabilities.
- Assist with policy reviews and updates to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Support client groups in implementing initiatives outlined in Civida’s People and Culture Plan.
- Participate in HR projects, change management initiatives and cross-functional committees.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, or related field preferred.
- Working towards CPHR or related certification is preferred.
- Minimum three (3)+ years of progressive HR experience with exposure to recruitment and payroll.
- Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
- Experience using Dayforce is an asset.
- Equivalencies may be considered.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with HRIS systems.
