SARA is looking for a remarkably talented, motivated, and experienced Physical Industrial Security Specialist to support activities out of our Colorado Springs, CO location. The candidate will have the opportunity to grow and support our talented engineers, physicists, and technicians on long-standing programs and new programs supporting our customers.
The Physical Industrial Security Specialist is responsible for maintaining daily physical security operations, including developing and implementing policies and procedures in line with regulatory compliances. Knowledge of operational security (OPSEC) and personnel security (PERSEC) processes is favorable.
Core Responsibilities:
- Engage in daily physical security processes, ensuring 100% compliance with 32 CFR Part 117, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) requirements
- Maintain intrusion detection systems, surveillance technologies, and access control systems
- Coordinate with vendors to schedule installations, repairs, and upgrades of physical security equipment
- Collaborate with Facility Security Officer (FSO) in developing and updating security awareness training for employees and visitors
- Conduct in-person trainings regarding physical security procedures
- Collaborate with Facilities and IT teams to ensure a compliant security posture
- Assist with escorting duties as needed
- Oversee access badges
- Maintain access rosters for restricted areas
- Conduct random bag checks
- Complete daily facility walk-throughs
- Identify physical security vulnerabilities and apply corrective or preventative actions
- Collect monthly standard form 701s,702s, and other end-of-day facility checklists
- Cover front desk reception as needed
- Assist with build-out of an ICD-705 compliant facility
- Participate in on-call rotation
- Participate in special department projects
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Direct experience in physical security within U.S. Government or corporate office environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance
- May require light physical effort involving standing, sitting, and use of hands while performing duties, carrying or lifting up to 50 pounds
- Working environment is indoor, moderately quiet, reasonably clean, well-lighted and well-ventilated; moderate physical hazards may exist
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of relevant Industrial Security experience
- Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance
- FSO Program Management Curriculum

Pay Range
Salary at SARA is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $19.00 to $21.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of SARA's total compensation package for employees. Positions are on-site, unless indicated otherwise.
