- Lead, Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM)
Description
The Lead, Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) functionally manages the process to protect classified information. The primary responsibility is to lead the implementation of all classified security policies, procedures, and requirements as directed by U.S. Government customers.
This role interprets, outlines, and enforces classified security policies and assures compliance with applicable government regulations. It serves as the subject matter expert for classified systems security processing at the site level and requires excellent leadership skills to organize and manage a small team with support from corporate security management.
Job Duties
Lead for classified network, TS/SCI, and SAP/SAR activities, including oversight of classified systems activities.
Support the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in maintaining secure facility accreditations and joint/co-use agreements with government agencies.
Write, coordinate, and conduct classified systems security education briefings (SAP, SCI, CLAN) and user acknowledgment statements.
Maintain records of classified security functions and activities for reporting; conduct investigations as required.
Implement security controls for classified systems, including approvals, re-approvals, decertifications, and audits.
Provide project management, ensuring timelines and milestones are achieved.
Oversee tasking and customer service matters for ISSMs and ISSOs.
Delegate assignments, monitor responsibilities, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
Communicate with security management to align priorities and expectations.
Mentor and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Facilitate communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Partner with intelligence community and collateral security components on inspections, reviews, investigations, and reportable issues.
Requirements
Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of Industrial Security regulations, including NISPOM, DAAPM, ICDs, JSIG, and NIST 800 Series.
Experience with systems and accreditation processes across multiple government agencies.
Established relationships with industrial and government security counterparts.
Strong understanding of compliance methods for classified security programs.
Thorough knowledge of information security systems and classified networks.
Current DoD 8140 (Cyber Workforce) IAM Level II certification (CISM or CISSP).
Proficiency with MS Office applications and cybersecurity tools.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience
Minimum: 9 years experience in classified systems security with a BA/BS degree
Without a BA/BS degree: At least 13 years of relevant experience
Education
Minimum: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: BA/BS degree
Security Clearance
Must meet eligibility requirements for access to U.S. government classified information
