The Village of Beverly Hills is looking for professional applicants interested in serving as Police Officers, Fire Fighters and EMS providers. We are the largest home-ruled village in Michigan, and we serve 4.5 square miles. We have 27 sworn positions, and we take pride in providing our residents with all their first responder services. POSITION SUMMARY
Performing enforcement of laws and ordinance, crime prevention, investigations, arrests, community policing, along with any related police matter. Performing firefighting duties, climbing ladders, using high pressured hose lines, operating fire apparatus, and continued training. Performing medical first responder duties.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Starting salary of $72,338
Top out at $94,819 after 3 years
New hire lateral wages available upon completion of FTO
Defined contribution retirement, Employee contributes 5%, Village provides 13.5% for a total of %18.5 through the MERS defined contribution plan
14 paid holidays, holiday checks twice a year (above our base pay)
2% Midnight shift premium

External vests and department baseball hats approved while on duty
12-hour shifts/ 14 shifts a month/ 6-month schedules which includes every other weekend off.

Requirements
PRELIMINARY REQUIREMENTS
U.S. Citizen
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license.
Associate’s degree/60 credit hours minimum required. Any field of study will be considered.
Must be a certified police officer OR have a minimum valid test score of 70% on Empco’s Law Enforcement written exam (https://www.empco.net/). o Applicants must make their results available by selecting Beverly Hills Public Safety Department in their Empco profile.
Either MCOLES certified/certifiable or MFFTC FF I & II certified (applicants currently in a fire or police academy in good standing will be considered). Dual MCOLES and MFFTC certification is preferred.
Pass the pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Pass the pre-employment psychological exam.
Pass pre-employment background check. No felony convictions.
Pass firefighter physical agility test administered by Oakland Community College Fire Training.
Firefighter-only certified applicants would be required to complete MCOLES pre-employment reading, writing, and physical fitness testing. (https://www.michigan.gov/mcoles)
