Description
Suffolk University Law School invites application s for a tenure-track clinical faculty member direct our Transactional Law Clinic starting in the 2026-27 academic year. We seek candidates with strong acad emic records and a commitment to excellence in clinical teaching and scholarship. Prior experience in clinical education is preferred , and at least three years of transactional law experience is required . Applicants must be a dmitted or el igible for admission to the Massachusetts B ar immediately upon beginning the position .The Transactional Law Clinic will provide students with the transferable legal practical experience they need to navigate a diverse range of transactional law practices . At a minimum, the Clinic will provide free legal services to underserved clients on transactional issues and collaborate with several existing clinics at the Law School , such as the Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic and our Legal Innovation and Technology Lab .
The faculty member will have the opportunity to design the clinic’s focus, develop partnerships, and shape the curriculum to best support both student learning and client impact. While the specific focus of the clinic may be shaped by the faculty member’s expertise and interests, we have curricular needs in the areas of real estate transactions and community economic development.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who can design and grow the Cl inic by dev eloping relationships with in the transactional legal community , the communities served, the University, the legal academy , and the Bar . In addition to directing the Clinic , the faculty member will be expected to teach one non-clinical course in a related field , contribute to the Law School and community, and produce scholarship .
The Transactional Law Clinic is one of Suffolk’s 1 5 year-long, faculty directed clinics . Suffolk Law ’s Clinic s are ranked in the top 1 0 such programs nationally by U.S. News & World Report and have been ranked among the top 2 0 for more than a decade . The Transitional Clinic is also a part of Suffolk Law’s successful Business and Financial Services concentration.
