Hiring for: Senior Property Tax Advisor
Who We Are:
Meridian Property Tax Advisors is one of the largest and fastest growing property tax appeal firms in Minnesota. We work with property owners and their tenants to evaluate their properties and reduce their property tax burden.
The Position:
We are seeking a Senior Advisor to assist us in resolving our firm’s property tax appeals. This position will be based in the Twin Cities area. As part of our team, you will:
- Successfully process & resolve the property tax appeals in your pipeline
- Research and analyze commercial properties
- Advocate for our clients and work to correct their property tax assessment
- Attend industry & company events
- Maintain a positive image of our firm
Compensation:
- Total Potential Compensation: $100,000 - $200,000
- Base Compensation: $90,000 - $150,000
This is a base + bonus position. We are a tight-knit firm that is looking for an experienced candidate with a unique skill set, but more so we are looking for the right person to join our team. The right person will have a positive attitude, will be money & results motivated, will be comfortable with conflict, and will enjoy the thrill of the hunt. An experienced candidate will possess some of the following:
- Certified Minnesota Assessor’s License (CMA)
- Accredited Minnesota Assessor’s License (AMA)
- Senior Accredited Minnesota Assessor’s License (SAMA)
- Certified General Appraisal License
- MAI Designation
- Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree (Real Estate or Related Field)
- Experience working as a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser
- Experience working as a Commercial Tax Assessor
- Experience working as a Property Tax Representative / Consultant
- Experience working as a Property Tax Appeal Attorney
- Experience working in a High-Level Position within an Assessor’s Office

What You Bring to the Table:
- Educational accomplishments and work experience as listed above
- Knowledge of the Minnesota property tax appeal process
- Knowledge of the Minnesota assessment calendar and assessment procedures
- Knowledge of commercial appraisal techniques and methodology
- Experience with Microsoft Office & Excel
- Experience working with real estate comp databases
- Experience valuing a broad range of commercial real estate
- Ability to travel throughout Minnesota for property tours (primarily in twin cities)
- Ability to argue and convey ideas in a professional and respectful manner
- Ability to connect with people and build lasting relationships
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Ability to construct an argument and defend your position
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
