Description

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The City of Phoenix Security and Access Control (SAC) Project seeks a CCURE 9000 Security System expert to lead the replacement of the citywide Access Control System (ACS) and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), including the system design, programming, and configuration. As the primary CCURE expert, you will be instrumental in ensuring seamless integration of existing security systems, upgrading hardware and software, and enabling remote access via the city's network infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

·    Analyze system performance, identify areas for improvement, implement enhancements to bolster security measures, manage physical security system support to meet service level agreements (SLAs), and serving as the go-to expert for CCURE-related issues.

·    Collaborate with stakeholders including customers, manufacturers, vendors, and technical specialists to communicate project requirements and ensure smooth implementation.

·    Conduct regular preventive maintenance activities such as backups, error log reviews, and database integrity checks and t troubleshoot CCURE 9000 performance issues and implement corrective actions promptly.

·    Direct other team members in CCURE-related tasks, provide guidance on system configuration, troubleshoot and supervise the work of technical systems staff and provide feedback on their performance/development.

·    Ensure implementation vendors conduct thorough field testing and quality control for CCURE 9000 installations and serve as the main point of contact for technical support and issue resolution with CCURE vendors and manufacturers.

·    Generate detailed documentation of CCURE 9000 system performance, service requests, and analysis findings.

·    Integrate CCURE 9000 with CCTV/surveillance and stay abreast of advancements in Access Control (ACS) and Intrusion Detection (IDS) technology and conduct research to evaluate new system manufacturers and solutions.

·    Lead the design, programming, and configuration of the CCURE 9000 security ACS ensuring alignment with project objectives and industry standards, as well as review and approve all CCURE-related construction documents, submittals, and installation drawings.

·    Provide comprehensive training to system users and support personnel on CCURE 9000 functionality and best practices.

·    Provide direction to design and implementation vendors regarding construction constraints and site-specific requirements for CCURE 9000 deployment.

·    Participate in project status meetings, provide updates on CCURE-related activities and milestones, collaborate with departmental stakeholders to assess technical requirements, and propose ACS and IDS solutions aligned with project goals. 

·    Serve as the escalation point for resolving complex system issues related to CCURE 9000 and associated networks.

The position works Monday through Friday at Phoenix City Hall and requires a willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, based on project demands. Teleworking may be available up to two days per week upon approval after six months in the position.

This temporary position will be funded through June 2026 with a possibility to be made regular in a future budget cycle. The temporary position will have benefits but will not earn city retirement credits or participate financially into the City´s retirement program. If the successful candidate is a current City employee, all benefits will still be applicable, and the employee will still contribute to their pension. Temporary positions are not covered under civil service rules, and thus employment is considered “at-will” and employees may be separated at any time.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of CCURE and other ACS and IDS technology and industry best practices.
  • Proven expertise in system administration, including triaging system problems, resolving issues, and integration. 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret system data to prevent problems and optimize CCURE 9000 performance.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders and convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated success leading and supervising work units.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two years of experience as an Information Technology Systems Specialist involving database management and on-line telecommunications.
  • AND Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, or a related field.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

  • CCURE 9000 certification.
  • Hands-on experience in programming and administering CCURE 9000 Access Control Systems.
  • Experience supervising and managing teams.

Experience with:

  • Installing, troubleshooting, and testing security electronics equipment, with a focus on CCURE systems.
  • Providing end-user training for Access Control Systems (ACS).
  • Working with Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
  • Integrating CCURE with CCTV/surveillance and familiarity with Milestone.

SALARY

$93,121.60 to $118,872.00 annually
