Company Profile

Kingston Midstream

Company Overview

At Kingston Midstream, we are committed to the responsible and safe storage and transportation of one of the world’s most vital commodities. We do this in partnership with key members of the supply chain who, like us, work to ensure that energy resources efficiently get from source to final destination safely and economically, where they will be used to drive industry, innovation and the economy forward.

The midstream process is pivotal to energy producers, shippers and refiners, and our role is to provide the optimal systems and infrastructure to facilitate their businesses, on-going growth and success.

Integral to our work is protecting the best interests of the many citizens we engage with and serve on a daily basis. We are an important part of the overall energy industry and our team understands that maintaining an open, informative and productive dialogue with landowners, community stewards, employees and customers is critical to ensuring that we keep pace with Canada’s ongoing energy needs.

Company History

Kingston Midstream Limited, formerly Tundra Energy Marketing (TEML), has been a midstream service provider since 2012. Our main lines of business have always been the movement, storage, and distribution of crude oil, growing through a series of strategic acquisitions. In 2016, we made our largest acquisition, the Southeast Saskatchewan pipeline system from the Enbridge Income Fund. The scale of this growth, and the evolution of the company as a whole, led to the rebranding to Kingston Midstream in 2019. In 2022 and 2023, we continued our growth through the acquisition of the Wapella Pipeline System and associated assets, and expanded our business in Alberta with the acquisition of the Marten Hills Pipeline.

Our name, Kingston Midstream, was selected as a nod to the history and legacy of our parent company, James Richardson & Sons Limited (JRSL), which was founded in 1857 in Kingston, Ontario. JRSL got its start as a one-man grain merchandising operation but with time, innovation and strong leadership, new opportunities presented and were successfully pursued including transportation, agriculture and food processing, financial services, real estate and energy exploration.
