Company History

Uwchlan Township is in the heart of historic Chester County, Pennsylvania, approximately 25 miles west of the City of Philadelphia. We were incorporated as a Township in 1712 and we consist of 10.45 square miles.

We’re a township of the 2nd class and are governed by an elected 3-member Board of Supervisors.

Before 1970, the Township was predominantly a rural community with most of the land area used for agriculture. Commercial uses were small and scattered, and industrial uses in the Township were negligible.

During the 1970s and 1980s, extensive single-family development was constructed in the southern and central portions of the Township. Since then, the Township has continued steady residential growth, with some commercial and office facilities also being added.
