Hazen Law Group LLC, a firm dedicated to the practice of elder law, estate planning, special needs planning, and agricultural and estate administration, is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to build a meaningful practice at a US News & World Report Best Law Firm serving individuals, families, and agricultural clients throughout Pennsylvania.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Associate Attorney will work closely with supervising attorneys and independently manage a caseload spanning General Estates and Trusts, Special Needs Planning, Probate, Guardianships, Elder Law, and Public Benefits. This is a new position created to support firm growth, and the right candidate will have the opportunity to develop deep expertise and lasting client relationships in a specialized, high-impact area of law.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Advise clients and draft documents to implement comprehensive estate and trust plans, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
Counsel clients on eligibility for public benefits programs (Medicaid, SSI, Veterans' benefits) and develop strategies to achieve and maintain eligibility.
Advise on and handle guardianship proceedings and estate and trust administration matters from opening to closing.
Maintain regular, professional communication with clients, courts, government agencies, and financial institutions.
Develop and maintain client and professional referral relationships; participate in firm-wide business development and marketing initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active Pennsylvania law license in good standing.
Prior experience in Elder Law, Estate and Trust Planning, Special Needs Planning, Probate, or Public Benefits preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Strong computer proficiency; experience with Clio and/or Lackner estate software is a plus.
