We’re a high-save organization helping nearly 34,000 animals in our community each year and caring for approximately 10,000 across both of our campuses. through sheltering, adoptions and community-centered programs and services that help find pets loving homes and keep them there. We are seeking a (Job Title) to join our team at our (Campus Name) Campus. As a Humane Enforcement Officer, you contribute to Nevada Humane Society’s (NHS) mission by performing field animal control work in accordance with state laws, city and ordinances, and statutes. You provide humane care of animals in custody. Humane Enforcement Officers also patrol neighborhoods and respond to citizen complaints. Handles all animals humanely, safely and with compassion, including those that may be injured, wild or potentially vicious. Your work supports protecting both community safety and animal welfare and reflects our commitment to care for pets, find them homes and save lives.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older.
- High School graduate (or equivalent).
- Must reside within a reasonable distance of the shelter to allow response to emergency call-outs within 30 minutes, as required to meet contractual obligations.
- Fear Free Certified prior to fieldwork.
- Attain and maintain NACA I certification.
- Euthanasia certified within one year of hire.
- 2+ years’ experience working with animals of unknown dispositions.
- Must be goal-oriented, self-starter with willingness and maturity to go beyond prescribed work and time schedules and meet assigned deadlines.
